We are looking for an experienced Mainframe System Engineer with strong expertise in Adabas and Natural to support, maintain, and evolve critical mainframe systems. The role focuses on database management, incident resolution, and supporting application teams in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Adabas databases, files, and system evolutions
• Resolve incidents and production issues
• Handle change requests and system improvements
• Provide on-call support for in-scope systems (24/7 rota)
• Support and advise application development teams
• Contribute to system roadmaps and technical improvements
• Maintain internal tools and scripts (e.g. REXX)
• Coordinate with multiple IT teams during incident resolution

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Adabas and Natural
• Mainframe environment expertise, including:
• z/OS
• JCL
• JES2 / MVS
• Database configuration, management, and troubleshooting
• File management: Sequential (PS), PDS(E), VSAM

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Natural Security and Predict
• Experience with Adabas sub-products (Fast Path, Online System, Natural ISPF, CICS interface, security tools)
• REXX scripting
• French language skills

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working in incident and production-support environments
• Fluent in English
