Scrum Master IT
We are hiring for one of our clients an experienced Scrum Master IT to support and further strengthen their agile teams.

- Primary location: Antwerp
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Liège and Eindhoven

Contract Duration
- Initial contract of 3 months, with possible extension based on proven match
- Mutual notice period of 1 month
Your Role
As a Scrum Master IT, you will use your coaching skills to continuously enhance team development and maximize business value. The teams consist of colleagues from Business, IT, and external suppliers, partly working in an offshore setup.
You are an energetic, flexible Scrum Master who thrives in complex and collaborative environments.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Scrum Team
- Coach the team and individual members in self-organization and cross-functional collaboration
- Help the team focus on delivering high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done
- Identify and remove impediments affecting team progress
- Ensure all Scrum events are held, productive, positive, and within timeboxes
- Safeguard the Way of Working and quality of deliverables from both the team and external vendors
- Monitor delivered user stories, features, and overall business value
Partnering with the Product Owner
You will form a strong partnership with the Product Owner by:
- Supporting effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management
- Helping ensure clear and concise backlog items
- Facilitating empirical product planning in complex environments
- Supporting stakeholder collaboration when needed
- Coaching the Product Owner on agile ways of working
Supporting the Organization
- Lead, train, and coach the organization in Scrum adoption
- Advise on Scrum implementations
- Promote an empirical approach to complex work
- Remove impediments between stakeholders and Scrum Teams
- Ensure smooth collaboration with other Scrum teams and stakeholders
- Actively participate in the Scrum Master Community of Practice to improve standards and practices
- Contribute to defining and optimizing the Way of Working together with agile coaching
- Organize and facilitate PI (Program Increment) planning
A Typical Day
You start your day with the daily stand-up, ensuring alignment within your Agile teams (virtual or on-site). You monitor progress on user stories and features, check for impediments, and ensure the team remains focused on the right priorities.
Throughout the day, you manage dependencies, remove blockers, and align with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery. You oversee backlog health, team velocity, and feature progress while continuously coaching team members.
You regularly organize demos where completed features are presented to business and IT stakeholders. Together with other Scrum Masters, you also support quarterly planning activities.
Your Profile
You are organized, people-oriented, and results-driven. You gain energy from achieving results together and are strong in negotiation — within teams, across teams, and with business stakeholders and suppliers.
You are pragmatic in applying agile principles and continuously look for improvements and innovative solutions.
Additionally:
- 3–4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
- Scrum Master certification required
- Strong affinity with IT and experience with tools such as Jira
- Proven experience within CRM and corporate website domains, supporting teams responsible for development and platform stability
- Flexible and hands-on mindset
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Willing to work 2 days per week from the Antwerp office and travel occasionally to Liège or Eindhoven
- Experience in a highly regulated environment (preferably Belgian Insurance or Financial Services sector) is a strong asset
